here is a quote a found on the net
Quote :
This was a hard pill to swallow, but it was absolutely needed to ensure the features and functionality that PC players have come to expect from Battlefield on PC are not missing," said Van Dyke. Support for ranked server provider hosting, peripherals such as joysticks, VoIP, and the higher maximum player count of 32 were examples give
so looks like 16vs16 which wont be to bad

i was thinking about buying it too, it's cheap and i love those kind of "historic" FPS, like i used to play a lot on 1942, ( that's why i'm not so bad on 2142 i guess lol ) i 'm gonna play 1943 too i think... so be sure to get me in ur team lol !!!

I am going to be getting this game instead of Bad company (I will have to play a demo of Bad company before I am convinced about it). I think 1943 uses the same engine as Bad company so it should have destructible environments too but will also have the more complex pc qualities that consol games miss out on (I will admit i am prejudice against consol games). I enjoyed 1942 and battlefield 2. I hope 1943 to be a fresh update on these old classics with a complete overhaul on the (outdated) graphics engine that we still have on bf2142. I just hope they do a new version of bf2142 at some future date.
I have now preordered it
Bring it on

kev trust me BC2 is far superior 2 the first one just remember the first one was never meant for the pc this was Dice first attempt (as far as i know) at a console game so was a test for them. 1943 will have the destructible environments but in my opinion it is meant to be the same as hero's a cheap basic game to get more people into the battlefield series and a wee bit of fun for present battlefield fans.
with the frost engine its a cross platform engine so the basically wrote all versions at once and now there fine tuning it for the pc 1943 is the same idea as well.
but as far as im aware there is going to be a battlefield 3, no details what so ever have been released about it just that they will do it and its not bad company 2.
and heres a wee vid of 1943
