flash video

any one good at making these? i had an idea for a very simple vid and was wondering if someone could make it?

er just out of interest what is it? flash is terrible if youre looking to make an animation something like toonboom or tvpaint is muuuch better

If you just want to make a flash video crack simply make a regular vid using your preferred method and then use riva to convert it to an flv.

its something i want for the new site, all im thinking off is just a black screen where the lines united we stand and divided you fall appear out of smoke then our skull appears in the middle with troops of deception below it.

if this can be made in something else thats great when it comes to this stuff i know fuck all and was hoping someone could make this for me?

i could probably knock something like that up in 3d in a day (plus a day to render if you want it to look shiny) depending on how you want the text to appear

I'll just point this out but generally using video and animation for decoration are frowned upon as bad web design practice. Cleaner, leaner websites are usually more visually striking than one with lots of bells and whistles.

If you want to it touchstone that would be great. I would want it too look as nice as it could with a short loading time.


My plab for this would be the 1st page of the site just a black page woth this video and a linl to skip it, I'm not wanting the site to be filled with this sort if stuff, and if people don't like it I can't take the video and just enbed it elsewhere

You have a point but that's not the problem. The problem is no one really comes to a website for the window dressing, they come for the content. Having to sit through an animation or wait for an animation or video to load simply because the web designer thinks it looks cool is considered bad practice. I'm saying this as a former web design student. I don't mind either way so long as you include a skip button so I don't have to load the animation before I can move on

yeah i was only ribbing ya mate. as an animator when i designed my own site i went abit mental with animated buttons etc, which was lovely.. until i tried to load it on my grandma and grandads dial up..... lordy that was not fun

Have to say that I agree with Kaos on this one, I can imagine an animation will just bother me.

lol yea i get dont worry mate take your time not in a rush for it.

and kaos there will defo be a skip button as me myself i hate seeing the same animation over and over and regularos can always book mark teh page past it so they dont see it all
its really only meant to be see once

just thought i would give a wee update, ive have discovered i can set this is only for guests, so the first page members see will be diffrent.
